Clay's Daily Double was launched by the Clayboard's Clayscience21 in January 2004 as a 'alternative' to music website Hits Daily Double. This website/blog, launched on February 21, 2004, is owned and managed by the Clayboard's clayisouridol with major editorial contributions from CDD news poster J4Clay. Originally we focused on creating Clay Aiken ads, seeing the general lack of promotion for Clay by RCA and "the power that be".
In July 2004 to October 2004, Clay's Daily Double began CDD Clay News Service. This blog, initially separate from CDD was shut down and merged into the main Clay's Daily Double blog in April 2005. Since then, CDD has shifted focus and evolved into the #1 most trafficed Clay Aiken news website on the internet attracting over 350,000 unique visitors and receiving in excess of 1.1 million page views in 2006. In the week leading up to the release of Clay's sophomore album "A Thousand Different Ways", CDD's website received, on average, 2000 unique visitors each day.The RSS feeds provided by Clay's Daily Double are used by thousands of Claymates either in the form of CDD's Clay Today-Feedblitz email newsletters or in the form of syndication on personal homepages such as iGoogle, MyMSN, My Yahoo and My AOL. In addition, CDD sends out our popular newsletter CDD Clay News Weekly which is a condensed version of our website, providing the latest "need-to-know" information for the Clay nation.
CDD has the most extensive coverage of all the major news events in the Clay nation, as well as an incredibly indepth archive of past Clay tours, beginning with the 2005 Jukebox tour. As of August 2007, CDD's archives includes over 4500 articles with that number growing each and every day.
